Welcome to Dr. Graziani's Page for Biology, Anatomy, Forensics, and Human Body Systems!

Thank you for visiting my page.  I am very excited to have the opportunity to teach you about the topics I love.....Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, Forensics, and our Project Lead the Way course, Human Body Systems!

I have a diverse background in science and engineering.  I attended West Virginia University for Biology from 1995-1999 before landing my first job in a laboratory working for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention at the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH).  This is where I found my true passion for the sciences!  My research at that time was in the field of neurotoxicology.

Next, I moved to Seattle for a few years, where I continued my quest in biotechnology research at the University of Washington in the Biochemistry and Medicine department before moving back to Morgantown, WV, to obtain my master's in Occupational Safety and Health.  I continued researching, but this time turned my focus to lung diseases caused by workplace hazards again at NIOSH.  This position allowed me to do some fascinating research in the field, such as following "smoke jumpers" (wildland firefighters) along with spending time in New Orleans post hurricane Katrina educating people on how to don respirators to protect them from mold adequately.

While at NIOSH,  I began teaching college courses which is where I found my OTHER passion, and that was TEACHING.  I knew as soon as I entered the classroom that I had found my calling!  I could combine my love of science and share it with others, it doesn't get much better than that!  I went back to school again for my M.S. in Teaching.  I recently completed my doctorate in STEM Education at PITT.  If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me.

I look forward to the time we will have together in the classroom!
