BIO
It has been over 20 years that I have been with Franklin Regional, and have taught visual arts in every grade level in this district. For over ten years now, I have also been the sponsor of the National Art Honor Society, where our members use their artistic talents for various community service projects. As of 2019, I became the Sponsor of PAWS for a Cause, which is a student group open to any students with an interest in learning more about animal care and related issues. My educational memberships include being a part of the Pennsylvania State Education Association and Pennsylvania Art Education Association for my entire career. As a Seton Hill University graduate with a Bachelor of the Fine Arts, I found my passion in the field of art education after graduation. Therefore, I went back to college to pursue my professional educational certificate and teaching career. In 2019, I also completed and obtained my Masters. I am a proponent of being a "lifetime learner."
Outside of teaching art, I am a working professional artist in a variety of mediums including caricatures, graphic design, portraiture, custom painted vehicles, and wearable art.
When not teaching, or working on my artwork, I can be found volunteering in various local community service roles. I am the Chief CART Coordinator for the Westmoreland / Fayette / Allegheny County Animal Response Team- responding to 911 calls involving animals. Animals also show up frequently as subject matter in my artworks as one of my favorite subjects. In addition, I am the Secretary for the Westmoreland County VOAD (Volunteer Organizations Active in Disasters).
